How old am I, exactly?

Enter your date of birth and an as-of date to find your completed years, completed months and remaining days. Today is selected using your device’s local calendar, but you can choose a past date or a future milestone. The birth date itself cannot be in the future.

For example, someone born on June 15, 1990 is 36 years, 2 months and 25 days old on September 9, 2026. Their next birthday is June 15, 2027. Change either date above to explore your own timeline.

Choose Calendar for native date fields or Type dates to enter both dates manually. Typed dates accept full or abbreviated English month names, ignoring capitalization: April 5 2025, 5 april 2025, 5th april 2025, 2025 april 5 and 2025 apr 5 all mean April 5, 2025. Compact forms such as apr52025, 5apr2025 and 2025apr5 also work. September can be written Sep or Sept.

For numeric dates such as 5/5/25, the default order is month/day/year. Choose day/month/year if that matches your convention: 4/5/25 then changes from April 5 to May 4. When only one of the first two numbers is greater than 12, that number is the day regardless of the selector. Year-first numeric dates always use year/month/day, as in 2025-04-05. Check the Parsed date beneath each field before saving; it always shows the year, month and day in that order.

Two-digit years follow a fixed rule, not a moving cutoff: 00–49 mean 2000–2049, and 50–99 mean 1950–1999. Use four digits to specify a different century. Spaces, slashes, periods and hyphens are accepted separators in supported formats; ordinal endings such as 1st and 5th must match the day. The calculator does not guess incomplete dates, interpret relative words such as “yesterday,” or roll impossible dates into the next month.

Switching entry mode keeps successfully parsed dates. A date that cannot be parsed becomes an empty calendar field rather than reusing an older answer. Saved history always uses unambiguous YYYY-MM-DD dates, which restore correctly in either mode.

Calendar age is not days divided by 365.

Years can contain 365 or 366 days, and months contain 28 to 31. This calculator first counts completed birthday anniversaries. It then adds up to 11 whole calendar months, anchored to the original birth day, followed by the remaining days. Total days is the separate calendar-day difference between the two dates; the birth date itself starts at zero.

A month ending before your birth day uses its last available day. January 31 to February 28, 2023 is one month; January 31 to March 30 is one month and 30 days. Adding two whole months reaches March 31, not March 28. This convention avoids accumulating shortened-month errors.

What if I was born on February 29?

In non-leap years, this tool treats February 28 as your birthday anniversary. In leap years it uses February 29. A person born on February 29, 2000 therefore completes 23 years on February 28, 2023, and 24 years on February 29, 2024. Legal or administrative rules can differ by jurisdiction; use the relevant authority’s rule for official eligibility.

The progress bar shows days since your most recent birthday as a share of the days until the following anniversary. It is not a life-expectancy estimate. On your birthday, the count to your next birthday shows zero and a new birthday year begins at 0%. The total-days count includes leap days.

Dates, time zones and privacy.

This is a date-only calculation, not an exact number of elapsed hours. It does not shift your birth date through UTC or let daylight-saving changes add or remove a day. Supported input years run from 0001 to 9999 using the Gregorian calendar; if the following birthday lies beyond year 9999, it is labeled accordingly.
